Promotion
Interns assist promotion staff in coordinating and copywriting daily on-air contest giveaways. Assist at remote broadcasts and special events held away from the station, take inventory of prize merchandise and match prizes with winners. Perform administrative and clerical tasks as needed, interact with listeners over the phone and at events.
Programming
Interns are exposed to what goes on behind the microphone during a radio show. They will help the on-air personality with the scheduling of songs, promos, commercials and contests. They also help answer the request line and conduct mini-demographic interviews with callers.
Sales and Marketing
In the Sales Department, interns learn how the radio station generates money. As an intern you will help service our clients by working with invoices, contracts, fulfilling marketing programs, competitive research, maintaining collateral material and various projects as needed.
Business
In the business department interns learn
by interacting
with all departments while working with the Assistant to the
General Manager. From general administrative functions, to filling in when there
are gaps in programming, promotions and sales, to major projects for the General
manager. Business interns will get an overall view of how the station is run
from a more corporate perspective.
